Meet publicly. Don’t invite strangers to your place and don’t go to theirs. Parks, restaurants, museums, or movie theaters work well for a first date.
Tell your friend where you’re going. Also, let them know who’s your date and when are you going to get back home.
Don’t share your personal data. Until you’re sure you like this person, don’t let them know your full name, address, and phone number.
Don’t be scared to say no, yet stay polite. If you feel like your date is digging too deep and asking you about something very intimate, like, something physical, financial, or personal — just say: “I don’t think we’re close enough yet to discuss this”.
